This tour was different from the typical garden circuit. Our guide took us to a neighborhood park where retirees were practicing tai chi and we joined in. Then to a wet market where we picked out ingredients for a cooking session at a local family home. The host taught us to make suzhou style dumplings and braised pork belly. Afternoon was spent in a quiet teahouse watching the canal traffic. This was the most authentic experience we had in China.
It was our 1st trip to Suzhou over the weekend. Hence time was of essence and thanks to Suzhou Private Tours and Ruby, our tour guide, we were able to appreciate the beauty of Suzhou during the day tour.
