Day 1

Welcome to Beijing! Upon your arrival in Beijing, our Beijing local tour guide will pick you up at the exit of the airport with a welcome signage "Beijing Private Tour" and you will be escorted to your hotel immediately. The rest of the day is yours to relax and recover from your jetlag.

Day 2

Today your memorable tour starts! This morning you will visit the exquisite Summer Palace which is the largest existing imperial garden with a graceful landscape and magnificent constructions. You will have a chance to take a boat cruise around the royal park.

After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, take you to the grand Tiananmen Square, the biggest urban city square in the world. Many constructions of great historical importance have been built on and around it. From there you will enter the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City to explore its fascinating halls and pavilions. Here, you will not only learn how the emperor handled political affairs and lived their lives, but also appreciate numerous ancient art treasures.

Then move on to Back Lakes (Shichahai Area), also named Houhai, which is located in the center of Beijing. It is linked with Beihai, and relatively distant from Jingshan and Summer Palace. It is the marvelous place that with water and be able to view mountains, weeping willows whisk coast idle land, residents around the palace and former residence are required to elaborate the history of Beijing City and the endless charm. There are a lot of Hutongs surrounding Houhai area, you can have a leisure stroll by walk or renting a rickshaw.

Continue your tour to Nanluoguxiang. The hutong has a history of over 700 years dating back to Yuan Dynasty in 13th and 14th century. Running from north to south, this lane is about 800 meters long with 16 hutongs - 8 hutongs on each side of the lane. The lane is now famous for the cafes, bars, clothing and handcraft shops that line its hutong laneways as well as its traditional hutong and courtyards (siheyuan).

Have dinner at a local Chinese restaurant, you could try Beijing Roast Duck for dinner, which is a most famous dish there.

After dinner, drive you back to your hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will visit the World Heritage site Great Wall (Mutianyu section, round-trip cable car included). You can wear a pair of comfortable shoes as you need to climb steps to get on the wall. 

Having lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, continue your tour with Dingling Tomb, which is only the third largest tomb after Chang Ling and Yong Ling. Its exquisite decorations, however, enormously surpass the other two. Most of the structure above the ground has disappeared except the Soul Tower. It is a magnificent building wholly made of stone and bricks, which may explains why it survived the centuries.

At last, you could appreciate the Chinese Kung Fu Show or Peking Opera.

Drive you back to your hotel.

Day 4

In the morning, visit the Temple of Heaven where you can see the local people do morning exercise. The Temple of Heaven, where the emperors worshipped the heavens in hopes of good harvests. As the dwelling of the God of Heaven, it covers an area even larger than the dwelling of the emperor, Forbidden City.

After lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, drive you to the train station to take the high-speed train to Shanghai. Our Shanghai local guide will pick you up at the exit of the train station with a welcome signage "Shanghai Private Tour" once you arriveds and drive you to your hotel immediately and help you check in.

Day 5

After breakfast, you will cross Huangpu River and visit famous Bund area, which is teemed with the futuristic, avant-garde buildings - Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building, theBank of China Tower. Completed in 1995 to a highly innovative design, Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower has become a symbol of excellence in architecture and is a favorite sight for tourists in Shanghai. At 468 meters, it is the third tallest TV and radio tower in the World. On the TV Tower, to have a bird's eye view of Shanghai City.

Bund

Later you will be taken to visit the 400-year-old Yu Garden – the representative traditional Chinese garden in Shanghai. Each pavilion, hall, stone and stream in the garden is expressing the quintessence of South China landscape design from the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Over forty spots, divided by dragon walls, wound corridors and beautiful flowers, form a unique picture featuring "one step, one beauty; every step, every beauty". Out from Yuyuan Garden, move to Yuyuan Bazaar to explore how elaborate and cute the traditional Chinese handicrafts and art works are, and savor some local flavor snacks here.

Followed a trip to a Silk Factory to see how silk is produced from the cocoons of silk worms, and turned into the beautiful fabric we all know and love.Then continue to Jade Buddha Temple to admire the largest jade Buddha in the world and exquisite religious artifacts. The essence of the temple is the two jade Buddhist statues brought back from Burma by the Monk Huigen for Putuo Mountain during the Qing Dynasty.

Drive you back to your hotel.

Day 6

Today: Free on your own until our driver drive you to airport and you can fly back home. Your 6 days tour of Beijing & Shanghai come to the ends. Hope you have a pleasant trip!
