Our Suzhou Pick Up Sign "Suzhou Private Tour"

You will start your tour to The Master of Nets Garden, which is the smallest of the Suzhou residential gardens, yet it is the most impressive because of its use of space which creates the illusion of an area that is much greater than its actual size. The garden is divided into three sections: a residential section, the central main garden and an inner garden. This 12th century gem (later refurbished in the 18th century) and UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts an impressive garden and nightly Kunqu opera performances, but it’s best known for its architectural splendor. The garden is especially fancied by overseas visitors and is praised as the most ornate and intact private gardens in Suzhou.

Next visit Tiger Hill, is also famous as Surging Sea Hill because of its natural beauty. The hill extends over an area of 1.4 hectares (3.5 acres) and is 36 meters (118 feet) in height. Though small in size, Tiger Hill is provided with a great many gorgeous scenes, historical sites, numerous towering ancient trees, and a Tiger Hill Pagoda on the top of the hill. You will find lots of historical sites some of which can be traced back over 2500 years to the founding of Suzhou. The Tiger Hill has been known as No. 1 Sight of Suzhou. It is a must for tourists. The great Song literary man Su Dongpo said, "It would be a pity if you had been to Suzhou but didn't get to visit the Tiger Hill." As a showcase of Suzhou and one of the first ten exemplary civilized tourist attractions of China.

After lunch, continue your tour to Suzhou Museum. Founded in 1960 and originally located in the national historic landmark, Zhong Wang Fu palace complex, Suzhou Museum has been a highly-regarded regional museum with a number of significant Chinese cultural relics. The new Suzhou museum designed by world famous architect I.M.Pei was completed in October 2006. Not only does the museum become a monumental design building in Suzhou, but also a significant construction, merging the traditional Chinese architectural design with the future. It enhances the protection of Suzhou cultural heritages, and enables Suzhou Museum to turn on a new page.

Move on visit Shantang Street. It also called Seven-mile Shantang, is located in the northwest of Suzhou, and the total length of it is about seven li (3.5 kilometers). Shantang Street in Suzhou attracts many tourists from home and abroad. Most of them prefer traveling along the canal, enjoying beautiful scenery. Owing to its distinguished geographic location and convenient water and land transportation, Shantang Street was one of the streets which trade and culture were most highly developed in Ming and Qing dynasties, regarded as “the No.1 Ancient Street in China”. The renovated Shantang Street becomes the place which shows the essence of natural views and human landscapes of Suzhou, which is rated as “the miniature of old Suzhou and the window of Wu culture”. There is a folk song, singing “There is a paradise in heaven, but there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on the earth. Hangzhou has the West Lake while Suzhou has Shantang. Both are good places with boundless sceneries”, which is the vivid image of Shantang.

At last, take you to Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory, it was built in Suzhou in 1926. It is divided into three parts: the exhibition hall which shows the history of Suzhou silk and some ancient collections; the working spot, where you can see how the silk is made; and the product exhibition hall, exhibiting the main products of this factory, the silk wadding quilts. The factory gains a good reputation in the silk industry for its complete technical process of silkworm raising, cocoon sorting, cocoon boiling, and silk reeling, rewinding and packing. Suzhou first silk mill provides magic silk production and fashion show the whole process, so as to prove the Chinese silk glorious history. At the same time, it also describes the history of the development of Chinese silk response which further profound Chinese culture. Excellent Tour Experience in Suzhou

We were truly lucky to have May as our tour guide and Mr. Ma as our professional driver in Suzhou for our tour. Both of them were really professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We started the day right on time and had a really wonderful time even though it was raining for the whole day. May spoke very good English & was extremely knowledgeable throughout our tour, she gave us some really good insights and a culture lesson about the architecute of those Chinese classic gardens. We visited the Master of Nets Garden, Tiger Hill, Suzhou Museum, Shantang Street & Suzhou No.1 Silk Mill. All sites were very interesting. It wa a well-organised trip. May was also very friendly, she went our of her way to make sure that our food preferences we accommodated even after the tour ended and we were on our own.
It was an overal wonderful experience and we would not hasitate to recommend the tour, the guide and our driver to anyone traveling to Suzhou.

Private Suzhou Tour from Shanghai with Guide Sunny

It was a business trip with my clients and it was the second time we booked the tour with Suzhou Private Tour. Our Suzhou tour was great.

Our tour guide Sunny and driver Mr. Ma were at the hotel on time with a welcome sign and drove us from Shanghai to Suzhou directly. We took a tour of The Net Master Garden, The Silk Museum, and the Tiger Hill... This experience was the highlight of our stay in Shanghai, mostly due to Sunny, our wonderful tour guide. We began the tour by visiting the Net Master Garden. While I did not previously know the history of this garden, Sunny provided very helpful details and answered all of our questions. After a traditional Chinese lunch at a local restaurant we continued to Tiger Hill, which was even more spectacular than I could have hoped. We got lucky with both the weather (clear skies) and the time of a year, there were very few people, not crowded at all. Throughout our Suzhou tour, Sunny was incredibly friendly and fun to chat with. She had good knowledge of the sites that we visited and also gave us great insights into her life as a citizen of Suzhou. All logistical details were taken care of by Sunny as well as our super nice driver, making for a very easy tour in Suzhou.

If you want to see these incredible sights in Suzhou, go with Suzhou Private Tour and try to get Sunny as your guide.
